Mirchi And Mime

Image
As the names says Mime which means action, character, or emotion without words. Mumbai’s first restaurant with a fully deaf-mute staff serving the food. Touched with the bright smiles of the staff and their warm hospitality. It was a simplified menu with each section have signs. We were explained how to order using the sign language if not we could even order by simply pointing out at it. Started by two friends from London in Mumbai now.. Well managed by 4 floor managers. A very good way to encourage the challenged humans to earn for their living. Sometimes i feel these people understand well what we want more than the servers without any challenges. Meal for 2 : Approx 2500/- with drinks, starters, main course and desserts. Loved this place, cute ambience, would definitely return. Good news for Sobo heard they are to soon open it in Colaba #thetastingtummy like me if you like food!

Tanjore - by Angie.

Image
Tanjore  by restaurateur Gitanjali Ramji whose nick name is Angie is situated at Colaba. A tiny, 24-seater, which opened in January 2015. I had Molgapudi Idli and Rasam Vadai. The menu is more or less identical to our favourite south Indian restaurant chain Dakshinayan, at Malabar Hill and Juhu. There were 2 servers but they did not have proper knowledge about the dishes. The dishes served to us were not made fresh but just re-warmed. There were some lovely beverages which i had was Paanagam which was a drink made from jaggery, chilled water, ginger and lime juice which was very refreshing. Another refreshing beverage was vasantha neer which was made of coconut water, basil leaves, honey and lime juice..

Miami

I happen to go along with my close friend on a Thursday evening for Pulling Sheesha and a thought to eat some scrumptious vegetarian food. How to reach here: From Marine Lines Station while taking a turn towards the iconic Sassanian boulangerie. There u see a bright lit big Board of Miami Multi- Cuisine restaurant. We got a warm welcome by Mr. Abdulla Farooqui who and Mr. Mayur Jain who are the owners of Miami. It’s a huge space of approximately 6000 sq ft. In SoBo it’s a little difficult to find spacious ones like this. The outside décor din’t look too appealing to be but loved the wall art. Seating: There are 3 eating sections and 2 Sheesha sections. It’s a good space to have a private party in of the section as it has so many sections. Eating sections are White walls well illuminated with approximately sofa and chair seating of 60-70 people at a go. It can take a good no of foodies in.  Mehfil-E-Miami I call it right… so first we decided to pull some Sheesha. I re...

Peshawri at ITC Maratha

Image
Same as Bukhara at Delhi.. Warm welcome and happy smiling faces is what one wants to see when you enter a restaurant that is exactly what I got.. Its Indian decor and dine in style gives an ethnic experience..To eat with hands they have do not provide spoons & fork.. Its said in india a meal is tastier if had using your fingers.. Well spaced seating a lil uncomfortable for me as I got the seats without back support!! They have sofas on one side & cushioned round seats without support on the other.. Here we get an apron to wear instead of napkins.. Let's talk about the food.. The starters: Scrumptious juicy Kebabs which just melts in your mouth.. Perfectly marinated and spiced.. The murgh malai grilled in tandoor and blended with cream cheese. Every bite was creamy..next was Barrah Kebab made of chunks from leg of lamb and lamb chops marinated with malt vinegar and yoghurt and char-grilled over red hot embers.. Seekh Kebab needs no description.. Spiced with royal cumin and ...

My Food Review  I Located it at :  1 6, Commerce House, Next to Trishna Restaurant, Rope Walk Lane, Opp. Kala Ghoda Cafe, Fort, Mumbai Visited on 02July, 2014 Cuisine Type :  Desserts, Bakery A   luxury French boutique patisserie opened on 24th January, 2014 by the owner Parthesh Patel and  his wife Chef Sanjana Patel who learned this art from Ecole Grégoire Ferrandi, one of the finest French pastry schools in the world  . They have a bakery  in Chandivali (Andheri East) where these finest desserts are baked. Ambience & Area  : At the ground level, a 10-12 seating space which was bright and fresh ambience. Wooden seating on one side and a dessert display on the other side which elaborated well each dessert. The picture frames of food photography added the charm to this place which   is elegantly decorated with minimalist and modern interiors in tones of black, white and grey. There was a door which was the most co...

Pronto

Location : Next to Eros Cinema,  Churchgate Ambiance : When it comes to Pizzas and Pastas the aromas spreads out and all over the place nearby.. You can never resist the herbs and bread getting baked. The entrance is a glass door with a poster of the food menu and few delivery menus.. It is a decent furnished place with a six - seater in front of the Kitchen Door at the ground level and with 9 four - seaters on the first level. The walls are in white and one wall is red which has 3 Wall Frames of CST, Taj Mahal Palace & Towers and the third was of Food Grains. The Tables & Chair are Wooden comfortable but the tables were really low. It would be difficult for a tall person to sit as he would have to bend too much to relish food. This Outlet is bigger, decent and spacious than the ones at Tardeo & Bandra which are merely a hole in the wall. The cash counter is on the first floor which has a collage of food options available here. There are yellow flush lights and head l...

Out of the Blue

My Review on Out of the Blue Cuisine Type : Continental. European, Italian Ambience : Out of the blue is one of the good food places i look upon at khar for a lovely authentic continental dinner in open air with soft music in the background. The place is really charming especially in the evenings. i do not like the ac section as much coz i find it too  claustrophobic .  Food :It needs to include more variety in appetizers. The smoked cottage cheese with  vege  barceque served with a portion of  Mexican  rice is really tasty, they serve good risotto i.e mushroom procinni had a perfect blend of cheese with mild taste of white wine and mushrooms also ginger ale the house ice tea is very refreshing. The virgin pina colada was having too much flavour of coconut and was too thin and extra sweet.  Offers : I recommend not to go for the current offer if you are planning to which says it serves on da menu of 10 yrs back. There was hardly any...
