The Decadent Michelin starred Meal

I Located it at : The Oberoi, Nariman Point, Mumbai

Cuisine Type : North Indian

Ziya - A restaurant i had heard a lot about is twice Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia - the first Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star.

Ambience : The interiors have been carefully designed to reflect the name. I got one of the best table from which i could watch the entire queen's necklace and the sea shining golden in sun from the tall glass windows. We got an authentic special Indian feeling with such an ambience. The tables were spaced out properly for enough privacy.

Food : International ingredients are paired with the tastes of traditional India, resulting in modern preparations with bold flavours, presented in a contemporary style.

I decided to have lunch when the restaurant week India was going on and i had booked a table. Upon arrival, due to summer and to beat the heat we were greeted with aam panna shot which gave me an absolute cooling sensation.
2 Appetizers - Tikke Pe Tikka which consisted of Spinach Dahi Tikki and Home Smoked Paneer Tikka); Dhaba Chicken was Punjabi Chicken Masala with Potato Tikki, Coriander-Fenugreek Chicken Tikka with tamaring chutney designed over the dish. Both the appetizers were perfectly cooked and the portion was small but it was quite filling.
2 Main Course we ordered was : Achari Subz Shaslik- Smoked Aubergine Mash with Peas, Makhni Sauce, Crisp Onion Fritters, Kachumber Relish, Mint Laccha Naan. This was not at all great and upto my expectations. Only thing good in this was the Makhni Sauce.
Matka Chicken - Pot Enclosed Braised Chicken Masala -Chilli Rice, Kachumber Raita, Mathi Sticks. This was served hot in a closed pot, it had an extra tinch of ginger which added the indian taste. I must say the Non Veg Dishes were far better than the Vegetarian ones.
2 Dessert - consisted of a Selection Of Homemade Ice Creams
Rose Petal & Vanilla Bean, Saffron-Cardamom,Caramelised Banana which can beat the heat in summer.. The best of out these was Rose Petal. I enjoyed it a lot. Every ice cream had a perfect blend and i could taste its each and every flavour & ingredient. Last was Shahi Zafran Tukda (Saffron "Shahi Tukda", Pistachio Crème Brulee , Sohan Papdi Flakes) which did not meet my expectations again. I found it less juicy and slightly dry. Personally i dint like the conbination of sohan papdi flakes on top which according to be spoilt its orginality.

Hospitality : As we went through the restaurant week India i felt that we weren't looked upon well as compared to the normal booking. We shared our suggestion to the manager about how imporatant it is to maintain the hospitality and also my friend who i accompanied works with a competitor than we started getting better services and the manager personally took care of us..

Overall ambience & food experience was amazing. I suggest one should try it once. Its expensive but worth an experience.
